Which TV shows will win awards at Oscars 2017?
The Indian film industry has been enjoying a bumper year, and while most of the awards ceremony will go to film winners, the top three TV shows are expected to be nominated for best TV show and the other three for best film.
The three TV show categories, television awards, movie awards and drama awards, will be announced on Saturday night in London.
The nominees will be revealed on Sunday, but in advance the nominees will have to have been nominated by the nominees themselves.
The categories include:Best television series, for the drama series Star Trek: Discovery, the best TV series for the animated series The Last Ship, and the best feature film for the film, The Master.
The awards show is being hosted by a panel of judges, including TV writer and actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, along with producers and writers.
The show will be moderated by Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, who will also serve as a presenter.
In the lead roles, she will be joined by actor and producer Michael Fassbender, who plays Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge on Star Trek, and The Last Starfighter, which is about a space ship pilot, played by Josh Hutcherson, who makes the journey of a lifetime.
The nominees for best drama series will be nominated by TV writers-directors for Star Trek Beyond, the second season of which was released in September.
The best TV drama series for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the last film in the franchise, is also expected to win.
In a nod to the franchise’s status as a worldwide phenomenon, the show is also in the running for best feature-length film.
The winners of the Best Picture categories will be chosen on November 9 at a ceremony at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Best Animated Feature and Best Music Film will be up for Best Film at the ceremony, with the Best Soundtrack for Star Citizen, the game, which has been delayed by the U.S. government in anticipation of the release of the film.
